Elle's Studio May Inspiration Gallery

elle's studio exclusive may kit and inspiration gallery is now live! here's a look at the may kit! as always, i love the colors of the kit this month! love the combination of red, pink, yellow, green and some navy blue!

you can purchase these lovely kits from shop now!

you will also be pleased to know that coordinating stamp, wood veneers and cut files also available!

and for this month, a patriotic mini collection where you can find tags, stamps and wood veneers is also available!

here's a look at what i made this month!

happy happy!

love this happy card and the star stamps from this month's exclusive! hence, i used stars as the main element of this page. i picked out the red star banner from may's kit and a circle tag from everyday moments collection. i also added some watercolor stars which i painted with mister huey's mist and watercolor set.
i'm in love with paper bows now, so i used a patterned paper from everyday moments collection to make this origami bow and used it to embellish my page. to add more interest to the page, i also hand stitched the white stars at the bottom of the page.

a lazy day

i love transparencies so i'm thrilled to find it in this month's exclusive kit. I used the 'a lazy day' transparency as an overlay for my photo and as my title for this layout. i created a grid using pieces from the kit, pieces i cut from "today's photos" paper from everyday moments collection and squares i painted using watercolors. the fun of creating this layout is i get to decorate each square. i am inspired by stitched class i attended at studio calico so i added lots of hand stitching here. i also added some tags, wood veneer, stamps and journaling for the rest of the squares.

you're the best!

this card is inspired by this mood board i found on pinterest where paper bows are hang on some twine using clothespin.

i made some origami paper bows with papers from Love You More collection and created this mother's day card.  since my choice of papers are grey and white, the ribbons didn't stand out from the white card. so i added this bright yellow die cut from dear lizzy as a base. love how it instantly makes the ribbons pop! i also added a hand drawn border to soften the edges of the card. the wood veneer is from this month's exclusive add on! i love gold, so i colored it with my trusty gold leafing pen. since the bows are quite dimensional, i was afraid i would crush the bows if i place the card in a envelope, so i recycled a glassine bag i had lying around and tied some twine around it.

that's all i have today. i hope you enjoyed these projects i created for elle's studio may inspiration gallery. to see more pictures of my layouts and card as well as the list of products used, visit my gallery here... do check out projects by the rest of the talented design team too!

have a great week ahead and see you soon!

Elle's Studio April Inspiration Gallery

elle's studio exclusive april kit and inspiration gallery is now live! here's a look at the april kit! love the colors of the kit this month! i also love that mother's day tags are included so i can start making mother's day cards early! you will also be pleased to know that coordinating stamp, wood veneers and cut files also available!

these kits are going for $9.99 from now until the end of today (after 12.01 am on the 11th, it will retail for $11.99)! so grab yours from the shop now!

here's a look at what i made...

thankful

i started this page by pasting 3 pages of an old book on white card stock and painted some gesso over the pages. then i used the heart stamp from love you more collection and created a background with inks in various colors. after adding my photo, i had lots of fun embellishing the hearts. to finish off this layout, i then added my title, journaling and some ink splatters with mister huey mist.

ooh la la!

the starting point of this layout is the rainbow card from the kit. i place it in the middle of a white card stock and started fussy cut some hearts using patterned papers that coordinate with  the colors on the rainbow card. i used patterned paper from love you more and 2014 collections as the different color tones and prints give some dimension when the hearts are arranged together. for my photo, i layered it with vellum, doily and some cards from the kit. at this point, i thought the design looks a bit plain, so i added some ink splatters and embellishments. to finish off, i added a label with my journaling.

#1 mom

i love the #1 mom star tag from the april kit and wanted to use it to make a mother's day card. i first covered the white card with a layer of white tissue paper. i then fussy cut stars from patterned paper from the love you more collection and vellum. as i arranged the stars on the tissue paper, i thought the card looked a bit plain so to added some mist to further highlight the colors of the patterned papers. i choose to highlight gold, green and pink here. to make the stars stand out more, i drew outline on each of them. to finish off the card, i added some star wood veneer from everyday moment, a pink ribbon and some sequins. i also created a coordinated envelope by adhering a piece of patterned paper to a regular envelope.

Elle's Studio March Inspiration Gallery

hello again! elle's studio march kit and inspiration gallery is now live! i hope you are looking forward to this month's kit because it's once again filled with lots of elle's studio signature cards and labels.

here's a look at the exclusive kit for march!

not forgetting the coordinating cut files...

these kits are going for $9.99 from now until the end of today (after 12.01 am on the 11th, it will retail for $11.99)! so grab yours from the shop now!

ok, now to share my gallery for march. this month, i had fun creating 2 layouts and a card with everyday moments, love me more! collections and the march kit!

Dapper

love the pops of colours from everyday moments collection so i made this layout displaying all the colourful labels and bits and pieces. i am still not very confident with adding my handwriting (i secretly wish i have a more artistic handwriting) on my layouts so i love how these beautiful labels make it easier for me to add my journaling.

this is the good life

another favourite picture of ethan and his daddy chilling out during the weekend. love the spring colours from the march kit so i pair it with everyday moments collection to create this boyish layout. used this beautiful dual patterned grey paper from 2014 collection as my background paper. i don't celebrate st patrick's day here in singapore so although that's the theme for this month's kit, i love that it's versatile and can be used for my daily layouts and projects too!

i think you are perfect

i'm still loving the sweetest of love me more collection so I created this card using a simple grid design. i also decided to be brave and drew a border to frame the squares. it's not perfect  but i love the way it looks. to match the card, i created a coordinated envelope by adhering a piece of patterned paper to a regular envelope.

Keep Calm and Make A Card

hi! it's almost the end of sunday and i hope everyone had a good weekend. today, i would like to share some cards i made for WCMD 2013 on studio calico's blog. there are some very attractive prizes!!! you can read more the details here. i am also in the mist of letting ethan start preschool and as a mother of a 2 year old, there are tons of things i can worry about. hence, i decided to work on some cards to keep myself calm and not worry about everything!!! *haha*

this is my first card...

i made this card to join challenge #2 - ombre. i used mostly products from crate paper "the pier" collection.

this is the second card...

i made this card to for challenge #3 - use your scraps. i have tons of scraps from my studio calico kits so i am happy to join in this particular challenge! i got to say the heart shaped stitching stencil from amy tangerine "cut and paste" is my current favourite!

this is the third card...

i made this card for challenge #5 - sketches. this is base on sketch #1. I used studio calico "valley high" card kit. love how the colorful papers look together.

that's all i have to share today, thanks for dropping by!
